WHAT IS QUALITY MILK ?

Technical Knowledge

Technical Knowledge

As the dairy industry has evolved, so too has the knowledge around controlling infection, such as mastitis. Although mastitis can never be eradicated, if milking routines and hygiene techniques are improved then the spread of infection will be reduced. Post-milking teat disinfection is the single most important step in mastitis control. A good teat disinfectant destroys organisms on teats, prevents teat canal colonisation of organisms and eliminates existing teat canal infections.

Grass to Glass Expertise

Grass to Glass Expertise

Producing consistently high milk products begins at the farm gate. Outdoor grazing is stimulated, and the cows receive feed such as grass and feed concentrates. Dairy farmers, as part of the Grass to Glass food chain have a responsibility for their milk quality and a need to be aware of the composition of all the circulation cleaners and teat sprays used on their farm.

Food Chain Responsibility

Food Chain Responsibility

As food producers, farmers have a responsibility to ensure that any products leaving their farms are of the highest possible standard. In order to meet these standards in relation to milk production, milking equipment must be cleaned and disinfected before and after each milking. Sustainability

Sustainability

Sustainability is about making sure that we farm efficiently while ensuring that the land we pass on to the next generation is at the same standard, or higher than the standard in which we inherited it. In the dairy sector, our multinational customers require suppliers who have a vested interest in sustainable production and for this reason, the implementation of sustainable initiatives are required.
